In JAMA Network, Nova Scholar Claudia Witt and coauthors explore the effectiveness of a prescribed digital app for reducing migraine frequency.
In a randomized clinical trial of 477 participants, authors sought to answer whether a prescribed mobile app is more effective than a control app in reducing the number of migraine days among patients with migraine headaches in Germany. Findings from the trial did not demonstrate a significant reduction in migraine days with the prescribed app. This study underscores the need for robust clinical trials for digital therapies regardless of other promising observational data that may exist.
