We are pleased to announce the launch of the Nova Network! Through the Nova Network, we are building a transdisciplinary global community providing evidence, inspiration, and advocacy for the health and flourishing of all people, places, and our planet. The Network welcomes anyone trying to make a difference in the world—including researchers, creatives, advocates, community organizers, educators, clinicians, policymakers, and young people, across the arts and sciences.
The Nova Network creates new opportunities for collaborative discourse, ideas, and action—to engage rich expertise, integrate research, encourage diverse perspectives, and nurture relationships for creative solutions. This includes participating in the Nova Institute’s international conferences, virtual “campfire” discussion forums, and in-person workshops, retreats, and other events.
This Nova Network, led by Prof. Susan Prescott, MD, PhD, incorporates and builds on the inVIVO Planetary Health network that she established in 2012 as a transdisciplinary response to the Worldwide Universities Network’s Global Challenges initiative. For more than 10 years, the inVIVO community has explored creative, integrated, ecological solutions for health of all systems and at all scales, and has been a significant contributor to cultural change and the planetary health movement. The Nova Institute has been working closely with inVIVO since 2020 and is now home for this exciting new shared initiative.

I am thrilled to welcome Susan Prescott to Nova and am so excited to grow this community of change, needed now more than ever. Susan brings a wealth of experience and expertise and is so talented at bringing diverse people and perspectives together. I can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together through the Nova Network.
Professor Brian Berman, MD, Founder and President of the Nova Institute for Health

“In an era of complex problems, we need integrated solutions,” said Susan Prescott. “Networks are essential for creating a rich tapestry of ideas and perspectives and a strong sense of community to inspire new narratives and actions for meaningful change. We are excited about this next stage of our evolution, growing together through our expanding relationships, to create new opportunities for all to flourish.”
We hope you will join us!
