
Francesca Richardson, PhD is a licensed clinical social worker and qualitative researcher. A clinical social worker for over 25 years, she has extensive experience working in mental health, hospice, employee assistance programs and in private practice. She earned her PhD in social work from Catholic University and has completed training as a psychoanalyst, a hypnotherapist, and as an Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) practitioner.
Francesca’s scholarly and research interests include caregiving, the ethic of care, intersubjectivity, phenomenology, and the treatment of trauma, as well as mindfulness and transpersonal approaches to well-being. As a Nature Sacred Fellow, she is interested in understanding the experience of nature as a relationship and its effect on experience of self and personhood, as well as the sense of nature as a sacred and healing experience.
